Katharina Pichler

(Salzburg/AUT)
Cultural worker

In the world for 33 years. On the road in Salzburg’s independent cultural scene for 13 years. Stationed at the small theater for ten years. Two longer university stops: one in Shanghai (Media and Communication Management) and the second in Tbilisi as a teaching intern for German as a foreign language. The second passion besides cultural work. Five years ago she founded the festival DIE KABARETT, together with the Women’s Office of the City of Salzburg and Caroline Richards. To date, this is the only cabaret festival in the German-speaking world for women only. Three years ago followed the founding of the festival vugtagö*, where crazy and ingenious theater from all over Austria is shown in the small theater and the OFF Theater, together with akzente Salzburg.
In 2019, the idea of placing listening stations in localities took its first shape during participation in the P-ART Academy for decentralized and transdisciplinary cultural concepts. Two years later, the first stories about the village and its inhabitants can now be listened to and heard in radio plays.
